外文摘要:Abstract:NOVELTY - Use of a mycotoxin-binding polyclonal or monoclonal antibody for binding and detoxifying a mycotoxin present in a feed by mixing the mycotoxin-binding antibody with a feed or feed ingredient, is claimed.
USE - The mycotoxin-binding polyclonal or monoclonal antibody is useful in a composition: for binding and detoxifying a mycotoxin present in a feed or food, where the feed is maize, wheat, barley, rye, rice, sorghum, soybean, peanut,  millet, brewers spent grain, distiller's spent grain, distiller's wet grain, and/or distiller's dried grain, forage or silage; for treating or preventing mycotoxin toxicity-associated disease i.e. mycotoxicosis in a human or non-human animal, where the composition is provided in a feed for non-human animals comprising at least one avian, bovine, porcine, equine, ovine, caprine, canine or feline species, preferably at least one of pigs, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, goats, chickens or turkeys; and for detoxifying a wide spectrum of mycotoxins including aflatoxins (AFB1, AFB2, AFG1 or AFG2), deoxynivalenol, nivalenol, T-2 toxin, zearalenone, fumonisins (FBI, FB2 or FB3), ochratoxin A, citrinin or ergotamine (all claimed). The ability of the mycotoxin-binding polycl to treat mycotoxicosis was tested in zebrafish having AFB1 induced toxicity using biological assay. The result showed that zebrafish treated with 0.25 mu M AFB1, 0.5 mu M AFB1-specific antibody and 0.1% dimethyl sulfoxide neutralized 100% AFB1 toxicity induced lethality.
ADVANTAGE - The mycotoxin-binding polyclonal or monoclonal antibody is more hygienic, safe, cost efficient, and convenient to use.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for:
(1) a composition comprising the mycotoxin-binding antibody and at least one mycotoxin adsorbing agent, mycotoxin-biotransforming agent, mycotoxin-inactivating enzyme and mycotoxin toxicity-reducing antioxidant;
(2) a feed blend comprising the mycotoxin-binding antibody that binds to and detoxifies a mycotoxin present in feed, or the composition, and a feed; and
(3) preparing the feed blend, comprising mixing: the mycotoxin-binding antibody; at least one mycotoxin-adsorbing agent, mycotoxin-biotransforming agent, mycotoxin-detoxifying enzyme and mycotoxin toxicity-reducing antioxidant; and a feed or feedstuffs/feed products.
