外文摘要:The present invention provides a method of enhancing an immune response to a vaccine by administering a vaccine and a population of isolated allogeneic human mesenchymal stem cells. The present invention also provides kits comprising a vaccine in a first container and a population of isolated allogeneic human mesenchymal stem cells in a second container.
NOVELTY - Method of enhancing a subject's immune response to a vaccine or inducing an immune response in a subject or non-responding subject, involves administering concurrently or sequentially the vaccine and an adjuvant in immunoprotective amounts to the subject, where the adjuvant is a population of isolated allogeneic human mesenchymal stem cells.
USE - The method is useful for enhancing a subject's immune response to a vaccine or inducing an immune response in a subject or non-responding subject. The subject is a human or non-human animal. The non-human animal is a dog. The human subject exhibits symptoms of aging frailty and inflammaging (all claimed).
ADVANTAGE - The method decreases the intracellular TNF- alpha expression in B cells of the subject by at least two-fold as compared to the TNF- alpha expression levels in B cells, and decreases the number of exhausted B cells in the subject by at least two-fold as compared to the number of exhausted B cells, and increases the CD4+:CD8+ T cell ratio in the subject by at least two-fold as compared to the CD4+:CD8+ T cell ratio, and increases the number of switched memory B cells in the subject by at least two-fold as compared to the number of switched memory B cells in the subject before administration of the adjuvant.
